What’s the purpose of drinking water while in a dry sauna?

Is it supposed to hydrate you more so you can stay in the sauna longer? Does it restore needed electrolytes? Or does it actually help to loose water weight even faster versus not drinking water?

you get dehydrated in a sauna, and your body is like, made up of mostly water, so its important to keep it hydrated.

and you don’t want to loose water weight…cuz youll gain it all back the next day. you want to loose fat weight.

Water is recommended so that you don’t dehydrate. The intense heat causes you to loose water through your pours, usually faster that when working out. Sauna or steam is great for your skin, lungs, muscle soreness and mental state but robs your body of essential moister. So, you need to replenish what you’ve lost. Plain water will not contain the electrolytes so substitute with diluted fruit juice (my favorite is pomegranate with britta filtered water and a splash of sparking water) or sports drink.
